Set in the historic riverside village of Potsdam, New York, at the foothills of the Adirondacks, CABIN is a place for artistic and creative development. Rooted in a town shaped by long-standing educational institutions, the residency offers time, space, and community structure.
Residents share a 6,000 sq ft, two-floor space, including a 3,000 sf ft studio and a series of gathering areas. Each cohort is intentionally composed. Participants are selected in relation to one another, forming a group shaped by dialogue, exchange, and mutual influence, culminating in a final exhibition.
The studio spaces are located above Maxfields, a family restaurant operating since 1976 and an institution to the area. The project is part of a broader cultural redevelopment effort.
